15B PINTEREST Design Era Boards
Full Instructions
1. Review your Pinterest - Getting Started webpage if you have any questions.
2. You should also create another section in your Design EAP board which represents your personal style or design aesthetic.
Name it 'About Me'. See your teacher's example About Me board here. You can use the images in this board to help build your 'About Me' poster; make sure you have a good variety of things you love!
3. You can choose to make other sections which you think will be helpful in this class. For example, your professor's Design EAP board has 'Design Quotes and Philosophies', 'Colours and Combos', 'Foodboard' examples, and more. You should have at least one section that is not a design era, which will be worth 1 % of your final mark.
4. Search for and pin at least 30 images to each Design Era which you chose, showing a good variety of items and objects. Don't forget to use contemporary as well as period designs, to show that you understand the era's aesthetic!

Try to collect a wide variety of images that reflect the design aesthetic,
and try to find contemporary (modern, now, current, 2020)
as well as period (historical, from the era, of that time) examples.
Period Examples
For example, if you chose Art Deco, you might try to find both the interiors and exteriors of Art Deco buildings, but you could also search for Art Deco clothing, hairstyles, food, vehicles, furniture, household products, font/typefaces, design elements, and jewelry. And don't forget quotes or philosophies representing the Art Deco era.
Contemporary Examples
T-shirts, sneakers, nail art, tattoos, wedding cakes, living rooms, brand logos, makeup, and webpages
are all examples of modern products that are still inspired by the Art Deco look!

HINT: Be careful to distinguish between an ERA ( 연대 ) and a GENRE ( 유형 ) !
An 'era' is a period of time
where the design aesthetic across genres has clear similarities.
Medieval, Renaissance, Brutalist, Modernist, Minimalism, Scandinasian, etc.
are all 'eras' which have a distinct look, appearance, and design rules.
A 'genre' is a type of art/design,
such as painting, sculpture, architecture, product design, etc.
Poster Art, Car Design, Filmography, Egyptian Sculpture, Word Art, Anime, Korean Pottery, Cinema Art, etc.,
are all styles/genres which can vary widely in their look.
